As I'm sure most of you have noticed by now, college is expensive. Tuition for the University of Arizona is jumping from five thousand dollars per semester to seven thousand, just from this year to the next. Keep in mind that this is for in-state tuition, not out-of-state, which is somewhere around ten thousand per semester. And rumor has it that tuition is only going to go up even higher.
We live in tough times, where we are forced to pay for our education while living in an economy that makes even minimum wage jobs hard to come by.
I myself groan whenever I get my latest bill about how much interest has built up on my loans.
So, for those of you who have yet to set foot on college grounds and grind it out against expenses that seem beyond your ability to afford, try your hardest to get scholarships. And if you can't get scholarships before you enter college, commit your soul to whatever dull gen-eds you have for your first semester, so that your college GPA might real in some scholarships for later semesters.
But what do you think? Have you already thought about paying for college? Do you have any plans for how to get by? Awesome scholarships that you'd like to brag about? Bills that you feel passionately towards, such as proposition 100, which without would instantly raise tuition even more? What say you?
